Slovenia a Small and Diverse Country

So why buy a property in Slovenia?

Firstly its a great place to live and also, is great for a holiday so if its a second home, investment or rental property you are looking for, it will be located in one of Europes undiscovered property destinations.

Slovenia is a small country and is around half the size of Switzerland and located in the heart of Europe, it borders Italy, Austria, Croatia and Hungary. Slovenia is only a small country but its one of Europe's most diverse.

Forests cover around 50% of the country making it around the third most forested country in Europe, after Finland and Sweden. Remnants of primeval forests are still to be found, the largest in the Kocevje area. With its forests, soaring mountains, bustling towns and a stunning stretch of Adriatic coastline, there is something for everyone in terms of attractions and also in terms of real estate.

While a small country it has a wide range of attractions some of the most famous being:

  • The tall peaks of the Julian Alps mountain range of which Mount. Triglav, is the highest peak (2863m) and a symbol of Slovenia being its national coat of arms.
  • The Soca Valley (pronounced 'socha') is an area of rugged natural beauty. The area is dominated by the emerald river which gives the valley its name.
  • The compact, cosmopolitan capital Ljubljana which has been likened to a smaller and friendlier Prague.
  • The beautiful lake resorts of Bled and Bohinj which are popular with both Slovenians and overseas visitors.
  • Slovenia's Skocjan Caves, are a world heritage protected site which are among the world's most famous systems of limestone (karstic) caves.

The above are some of the most popular places to buy real estate in Slovenia and you can read more about them and properties available on other areas of this website, where you can browse a wide variety of the best property in Slovenia.

Finding the Right Real Estate for You
