Due to the excellent quality of the soil, favourable climate with hot summers and cold winters and with more than 2000 hours of sun per year, the high quality wines from these vineyards are consistently among the best in Slovenia, and many gold medals have been won at wine fairs internationally and locally from wine originating from this area.
In 1997 the vineyard itself was thoroughly tilled, so everything was prepared for the planting of vines in verticals. The old vineyard was removed and vine teraces were levelled. In 2003 the land was trench-ploughed and planted. Anticipated plantation was 5000-6000 vines/ha with an average yield of 10,000 Kg of grape per hectar (200,000 Kg of grape in the full vintage time, which means approximately 200,000 0.7litre bottles of quality and high quality wine). Currently the vineyard has cca 95,000 vines, there will be 115,000 by the end of 2009. Chardonnay 40%, Sauvignon 35% with the remainder made up of Modri Frankinja and Laski Riesling.
There is also a possibility to enlarge the vineyard area to 30 hectares over the next 18 months. yielding up to 300 tons of total grape production.
